Parliament was nearly called into session to rule on extending the time frame for the King's majority and extending the Regency period. That was only quashed when it came to the Queen's attention that should it come up for modification, it was a near certainty that she would be replaced as regent. With the young King risking another five years under the thumb of a regent, and the Queen Mother risking being ousted from power, neither side really wanted to give their squabbling nobles a say in the matter after all. None of which prevented members of the parliament from routinely fanning the flames in hope that such a decision would end up eventually in their self-serving clutches.
